Kit Digital is a Spanish government programme, not a service open to everyone. It subsidises the digital transformation of small businesses and self-employed people registered in Spain. If your company is based in the UK or the Netherlands, it normally does not apply to you, and we cannot promise eligibility. We explain it here because many Spanish SMEs ask us about it, and because it shows how we work as an agency.

What Kit Digital is

Kit Digital is a programme of grants from the Government of Spain, financed by the European Next Generation funds. It pays for digital solutions for SMEs and the self-employed. Gecko Studio is an authorised digitalisation agent: we handle the process from the application to delivery of the solution, including the paperwork, deadlines and technical justification.

According to our information, the grants cover between 2,000 and 12,000 euros depending on the size of the company and the category of service. They can be used for a website, an online store, SEO, social media management or digitalising internal processes.

Important: the Government's calls for applications are currently closed. We remain authorised agents and will let interested Spanish companies know when the next round opens.

Who it is for

It is aimed at companies and self-employed people in Spain. The basic requirements are:

Being a small business, microbusiness or self-employed person with 1 to 49 employees.
At least 6 months of activity.
Being up to date with tax and Spanish social security obligations.
Staying within the de minimis state aid limits (200,000 euros over 3 years).
Not being in a situation of business crisis.
Completing the digital maturity test on the Government's Acelera Pyme platform.

Because the programme depends on Spanish tax and social security status and on a Spanish government platform, a UK or Dutch company would not normally qualify.

Amounts by company size

0 to 2 employees: up to 2,000 euros in total.
3 to 9 employees: up to 6,000 euros.
10 to 49 employees: up to 12,000 euros.

Categories can be combined as long as the total stays within the limit for your size. VAT is not covered by the grant.

What the grant can cover

Website and online presence: responsive design, domain and hosting. Up to 2,000 euros.
E-commerce: an online store with catalogue, payments and order management. Up to 2,000 euros.
Advanced online presence (SEO): audit, keyword research, on-page optimisation and reporting. Up to 2,000 euros.
Social media management: strategy, editorial calendar, publishing and community management. Up to 2,500 euros.

How the process works

Check eligibility (about 5 minutes).
Request the voucher on Acelera Pyme (1-2 weeks). We guide you or manage it for you.
Choose your solution with us and sign the service agreement (1 day).
Implementation and justification (3-6 weeks). We deliver the project and handle the technical justification. You pay nothing, or only the difference if the project exceeds the voucher.
